First Things First recognizes that every Arizona child’s first experiences lay the foundation of future success, for our kids and our state. Positive childhood experiences create capable children, the bedrock of prosperous, educated neighborhoods. In Arizona, the voters spoke in 2006, setting aside 80 cents from each pack of cigarettes to ensure that children from birth to age 5 have an optimal start in life and begin school ready to learn.

Now the Arizona Legislature wants to overturn the will of the people, end these core programs for young kids and seize this funding stream to support their spending.

We can’t let that happen. We need to save First Things First by voting on Proposition 302. That “no” vote will keep the will of the people intact and reaffirm the commitments made in 2006 and again in May with the passage of Proposition 100.

To be born in Arizona shouldn’t mean a second-rate childhood. It shouldn’t mean cuts to vital services that let kids start school healthy and ready to learn. Learn more, get involved … and vote NO ON 302 this November.
